Hello Does anyone know anything of an Edward KOPPLIN who in 1881 was residing in Birkenhead though he was not there for the census. He was a butcher and married my 3xgt aunt Margaret Marriott who, on census night 1881, was living at 50 Thomas Street, Birkenhead. Regards Peter R Metcalfe Flint
Hello All I am a new subscriber and am interested in the NORMAN family. Charles was born in 1798 and died at sea in December 1830. Could someone help or point me in the right direction to research this tragedy. Charles married Jane Sharp (1799-1884) in Liverpool, St Nicholas and had a son John (1829-1904) who was a Ship's Carpenter. He married Ann Pickering (1835-1901) of Malpas, Cheshire. Their son Charles (1860-1915) was a Joiner/Ship's Carpenter. They had a son John Reginald(1908-1990) who lived and died in Flint. Jane remarried to John Byers. Hello Ruth, Thank you for the information. I was hoping a family called PIERCE were living there. I have what I think is my father's sisters marriage certificate. The registration district is Birkenhead and the marriage took place at The Parish Church, Parish of St. Pauls, Seacombe. Her address is given as 83 Victoria Road. I am assuming that is Seacombe. Anyway thank you very much for looking. Thomas Moore, saddler is given at that address both in Gore's 1912, and the 1914-15 Wallasey postal directory. By the way, you may like to know that Victoria Road Seacombe changed its name to Borough Road (c 1920's?) to avoid confusion with Victoria Road New Brighton. This is a longshot posting. I am trying to locate records of origins for William BROWN William BROWN born Eng 1802 Came to New Zealand mid 1830s,legend states he jumped ship off a Whaler. William wrote home regularly by all accounts so perhaps and this is the longshot that those letters exist somewhere or family in Britain know of a seaman in their family who never returned but settled in Gisborne ,New Zealand This is being posted to all lists so I apologise if any of you see it a few times Thank you all Julie-Ann Brown
Pat & Bill I suppose you know Thomas Fulton was a Carter, married to Rebecca, born c.1858 and from Seacombe, Wallasey? I tried a few Mary Ellens, but all local ones were unmarried and maiden names not Fulton. If you don't have a married name for her I fear it's going to be awful difficult to pin her down - do you know if she was even alive in 1881?
