    3. Hi All, Just in case you missed this previous postings. It's a long list so use your down cursor key or mouse. these films are available in Wirral Archives, Birkenhead Library and soon Wallasey Library but may not be in the LDS catalogue yet. I have asked Wirral archives for the numbers so hopefully I will get a reply Hope this helps Links to Birkenhead Reference library and Wallasey Central Reference Library. http://www.wirral-libraries.net/info/index.htm Although they do not have many staff to cope with too many queries I am sure that quick questions may be answered if you can give specific details, but I would not expect a quick reply as I've seen them on their busy days and they are inundated at the library with customers!. Below a copy from the Wirral Archives site http://www.wirral-libraries.net/archives/cemetery.htm These records were filmed by the Genealogical Society of Utah, from the records held by Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, at Landican Cemetery, in Summer 2001. The records include burial registers and grave registers, which include details of grave ownership. In these grave registers, only the left hand page is filmed as the right hand page of the register includes personal details of living individuals. Such information is governed by the Data Protection Act. Burial registers provide details as follows: Date of burial; age; rank or profession; abode, mode of burial (I.e..whether a public grave);grave number and by whom the ceremony was performed. Grave registers provide details as follows: Section; grave number; class; depth; date of interment; number of interment in grave;depth of burial; age;name; whether cremated remains , for each burial. The records include the following cemeteries; Bebington; Bebington Borough, Plymyard; Eastham;Hoylake and West Kirby UDC, Grange; Wallasey; Frankby; Landican; Flaybrick. 2. Would SKS with the 1851 census please look up John ROWBOTTOM for me. In later censuses his place of birth is hard to decipher and could be any of the following: Houlton, Hatton, Halton, in Cheshire, ca. 1830. Thanks, Maureen

    1. [BKHD] Re: Cemeteries on Wirral-LDS Film #'s
    2. Webb/Davies Research
    3. Wendy and List, I didn't realize that all the Wirral cemeteries were filmed by the LDS as my interests are concentrated on Flaybrick. The following is what I was given with regard to LDS film numbers for Flaybrick by a representative of the church in Utah: The title of the record is "Birkenhead Cemetery, register of burials and graves in the consecrated (Church of England), unconsecrated (Nonconformist), and Roman Catholic grounds, 1863-1990." It does not refer to Flaybrick by name. This is what is covered: Burials in consecrated ground, 1864-1883 - film 2232871 items 4-5 Burials in consecrated ground, 1883-1907 - film 2232872 Burials in consecrated ground, 1907-1930 - film 2232873 Burials in consecrated ground, 1930-1942 - film 2262016 items 1-2 Burials in unconsecrated ground, 1863-1918 - film 2262016 Graves register (Ch of England), sections 15-17 - film 2262017 Roman Catholic burials, 1893-1951 - film 2232992 items 1-3 Burials in consecrated ground, 1942-1948 - film 2232992 item 4 Burials in consecrated ground, 1948-1961 - film 2232993 item 1 Roman Catholic burials, 1951-1962 - film 2232993 item 2 Graves register (Nonconformist), sections 1-4 - film 2232993 items 3-6 Graves register (Nonconformist), sections 5-7 - film 2232994 items 1-5 Graves register (Roman Catholic), section 1 - film 2232994 items 6 Graves register (Roman Catholic), sections 2-7 - film 2232995 items 1-6 Graves register (Ch of England), sections 1-2 - film 2232995 items 7-8 Graves register (Ch of England), sections 2-7 - film 2232996 Graves register (Ch of England), sections 7-12 - film 2232997 Graves register (Ch of England), sections 12-15 - film 2232998 Burials in unconsecrated ground, 1918-1959 - film 2232913 items 1-2 Roman Catholic burials, 1864-1893 - film 2232913 items 3-4 _________________________________________ Tom Wood Pittsburgh, PA USA >From: "Wendy S. 1. [BKHD] Is anyone visiting Birkenhead Library? Requesting a big favour
    2. Hi Fellow Listers, Is SKS visiting Birkenhead Library in the future? May I ask a big favour? I would dearly love a copy of my grand-parents marriage certificate. I know the date and details of when their marriage took place. As I live too far away, I would be grateful for your help. Thanks in advance for your kindness. Tricia Triciandbob@aol.com

    2. Hello Listers: - Am just wondering if it would be possible for SKS to do lookups of the local newspapers and print a few of the notices for old papers that might be of interest to some of us. For example I know of an accident that occured in 1940 where my g'father was killed by a bus in the blackout. but notices of births and marriages might be of some help to others.

    3. Margaret, I would have a look on the electoral role. They have these at Birkenhead Library going back a long way. I have found a few of "my family" on them. I realise this is o.k if you live nearby and it only lists people who are of Voting age. I have found it to be an added extra in my research.. regards. On his marriage in 1864, John Hawkins, railway guard age 26, gave his address as 62 Grange Lane, Birkenhead. I have been trying, without success, to find 62 Grange Lane in the 1861 Birkenhead census, hoping to find John Hawkins there living with his father Robert Hawkins. I have used the street and surname indexes and have even gone right through Birkenhead looking for 62 Grange Lane, but it appears to be completely missing, together with several other nos. on either side of it. I know from directories that the address existed and that Robert Hawkins was living there from the late 1850's until he died in 1882. If anyone has any bright ideas about finding 62 Grange Lane in the census, or comes across John Hawkins in 1861 or even 1871, I'd love to hear. Many thanks.
