1. [BKHD] Online Parish Register searches
2. Hi there in Birkenhead If you are searching for ancestors in Birkenhead you migrated from the Docklands area of London you may be interested in my website: www.parishregister.com It has the baptisms registers of St Peter's,London Docks from 1878 to 1933 and contains nearly 8000 entries,490 of which are Watermen and Lightermen of the river Thames, fully searchable online. Searching is free.It costs £2.95 to view results, part of which goes to St Peter's. This is cheaper than going to the Archives yourself, and also saves a day of searching. You can also buy the complete indexed database on microfiche if you find many names you are searching for. We also have ( free ) aerial maps of the area ,ancient and modern so that you can view the streets where your ancestors lived. Kind regards James

3. I've been collecting "stuff" about Birkenhead on my HD for years .. waiting for the proof that I needed that my family did indeed come from that area. If no one minds I'll start posting it :-) (sometimes it just mentions one person from Birkenhead but I'm too lazy to sort it out) @Cheshire -M Miscellaneous Institutions #1851 Z/4401//STOCKPORT UNION WORKHOUSE ST THOMAS STOCKPORT/ J/SARAH/GOODIER/PAUPER/WIDOW//68/REELER/CHS/STOCKPORT/ J/HANNAH/WRIGHT/PATIENT///11/NONE/CHS/STOCKPORT//BLIND/ J/JAMES/BRISCAL/SCHOLAR//13//NONE/CHS/STOCKPORT/ J/SARAH/WRIGHT/SCHOLAR///8/NONE/CHS/STOCKPORT/ J/BANCROFT/JOSEPH/PAUPER/WIDOWER/57//CALENDER MAN/CHS/STOCKPORT/ J/JOHN/MCMULLAN/PAUPER/MARRIED/60//WEAVER POWER LOOM/CHS/STOCKPORT/ J/WILLIAM/BAILEY/PAUPER/UNMARRIED/40//CARDER COTTON MILL/CHS/STOCKPORT/ J/SARAH/BUCKLEY/PAUPER/U//33/COTTON PICKER MILL/LAN/PENDLETON/ J/ROBERT/FOOT/PAUPER/WIDOWER/73//HAND LOOM WEAVER/ANT/LISBURN/ J/MARTHA/SWINDLEHURST/PAUPER/WIDOW//47/SERVANT/CHS/STOCKPORT/ J/HANNAH/SWINDLEHURST/SCHOLAR/U//13/NONE/CHS/STOCKPORT/ J/WILLIAM/SWINDLEHURST/SCHOLAR//6//NONE/CHS/STOCKPORT/ J/SARAH/ROGLE/PAUPER/U//25/DRAWING TENTER COTTON MILL/CHS/STOCKPORT/ J/JAMES/ECKERSLEY/PAUPER/WIDOWER/80//HAND LOOM WEAVER/LAN/MIDDLETON ALTA?/ J/THOMAS/WILKINSON/PAUPER/U/48//JENNY SPINNER COTTON MILL/CHS/STOCKPORT/ J/DINAH/PEARSON/PAUPER/WIDOW?//76/SHAWL CUTTER/CHS/RAINOW/ J/JOHN/DAVIES/PAUPER/WIDR/75//HATTER/CHS/STOCKPORT/ J/BETTY/HYDE/PAUPER/U//71/SERVANT/LAN/GORTON/ J/JOHN/HARDY/PATIENT/U/31//SHUTTLE MAKER/CHS/STOCKPORT/ J/CHARLES/LEAH/PAUPER/WIDR/74//SILK WEAVER/CHS/STOCKPORT/ $ Z/4402//HOUSE OF CORRECTION/ J/SAMUEL/LEWIS/PRISONER/U/17//PIN MAKER/GLS/STROUD/ J/SAMUEL/SPARKS/PRISONER/U/25//LABOURER BRICKLAYER/CHS/NANTWICH/ J/RICHARD/DUTTON/PRISONER/MAR/34//BRICKLAYER JOURNEYMAN/CHS/NANTWICH/ J/JOHN/BAGSHAW/PRISONER/U/19//OSTLER OR STABLE BOY/CHS/STOCKPORT/ J/WILLIAM/SPARKS/PRISONER/U/15//LABOURER FARM/CHS/NANTWICH/ J/JAMES/CANDALET/PRISONER/U/21//SHOEMAKER JOURNEYMAN/STS/BURSLEM/ J/THOMAS/MASON/PRISONER/U/21//SILK DYER/CHS/MACCLESFIELD/ J/JOHN/WILDE/PRISONER/U/23//PIECER COTTON/LAN/HOOLEY HILL/ J/THOMAS/HADDOCK/PRISONER/U/27//FLAT? 1. [BKHD] Are you researching ROBERT TAYLOR?
2. Juliet Evans
3. Hi List, Is anyone researching ROBERT TAYLOR, a railway clerk living at Brook Street, Birkenhead in 1851? He was born in Glasgow? The reason I ask is that he has a 'grandmother' living with him by the name of MARY BIBBY, a widow, aged 60. As she is 60 and he is 34 I do not think it is Robert's grandmother, more likely to be his mother or mother-in-law. I am trying to find out if this could be 'my' Mary who was married to Alexander Bibby in 1822. Could Robert's wife Hannah have been her daughter? I would love to be able to rule her out or not as the case may be. Thanks very much.

2. Forward: Please reply to sender or to the list not to me Thanks Caryl List Admin Subj: Delahunty search Date: 2/8/2002 1:55:21 AM GMT Standard Time From: jfwaring@compuserve.com I am interested in finding out more about James Patrick Delahunty who lived in Birkenhead during the period 1871-1888/90. His wife was Johanna Kenney. He was a decorative painter. He was born in Ireland but I have no idea where in Ireland I know when they were married (1871)in the Wirral but do not know which Roman Catholic church. He seems to have died in1888-90. I would be interested in knowing whether there was an obituary in the Birkenhead newspapers. fred waring

1. [BKHD] Rowbottom
2. Does anyone have access to the Birkenhead 1851 census. I am specifically looking for John ROWBOTTOM who would have been ca. 20 years old at the time. If I can find his address then I may be able to figure out where he was married in Birkenhead, and order the appropriate films. Thanks, Lorraine, for finding the family on the 1841 census. Is Bebington Lane still on the Birkenhead map? Maureen
