    1. Abrahams' in Claughton
    2. Andrew Abrahams
    3. Hi to all, My gt-grandfather John Abrahams moved the family from Liverpool to 'Fir Grove', Park Road West, Claughton in early 1918, or thereabouts. Park Road West is easy enough to find but I can't identify ' Fir Grove'. I had hoped to visit last year but had to cancel the trip. Would anybody know whether this house is still known by this name and naturally where it is, or have an idea as to directories that may contain a modern reference. Failing this an old directory that might help to identify it. Many Thanks Andrew

    2. Is this Bull family related to Jens Andersen Bull who was bishop of Meldalen, Norway in circa 1580? If so, I'd love to hear from you. Jens was my 10th-g-grandfather. Jon Raymond St. Paul Park, MN http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~raymond

    1. BULL family Birkenhead- McLaughlin connection
    2. Is anyone here researching the BULL family from Birkenhead? This is for a friend of mine They have the family on census, first showing in the Birkenhead 1891 census Brook street with birthplaces of Middlesex, London, Norwich, Huntingdon 1918 Absent Voters List for Birkenhead lists the following for Brook Street: 202410 Private Joseph Bull, 1st/4th Cheshires (killed 14th October 1918) 359600 Private George Bull, 806th Company, Labour Corps (and we now know Royal Welsh Fusiliers) 844816 Fireman John Bull, HMS Duke of Clarence, Royal Navy (Died young, sometime between the wars. I have the date but it is packed away c1929.) 24776 Driver William Goodman Bull, 25th (AT) Company, Royal Engineers Sarah Bull was born in April 1898. She went to work in London in WW1. She married Alexander Newman c1921 and lived the rest of her life in the south. "Lizzy", married a man who worked for Cammell Lairds as some sort of a tradesman. He was known within the family as "Billy Mac" as his name was William McLaughlin. Not sure if his surname is correctly spelled, Once again just "family history", but family legend has it that before WW2 he worked on the "HMS Thetis" and that it was just the "luck of the draw" that he wasn't one of the men from the shipyard who went to sea still working on the boat, and were drowned. He was also supposed to have been one of the men that was involved in refurbishing this submarine when it was raised from Liverpool Bay. I'll pass on the e-mail address of the researcher to anyone who is also researching this family Caryl

    3. As a matter of interest, my folk, David KIRKPATRICK and Mary SILLERS, or SELLERS were married on 10th May 1818. I got a copy of the Marriage Licence in the hope of finding more information about them, the parents of David KIRKPATRICK, but there was only one other KIRKPATRICK with just an initial and no address. They also used a finger print as well as a very nicely written signature. David KIRKPATRICK was described as a Master Mariner at the time of his marriage, but found in 1823 at 130 Park Lane, Liverpool, as a Surgeon. He died in 1837.
