Hello---I am cleaning our papers--have gotten too many. I found the following that I had copied at the Nashville, TN. library in 1973--all on pension applications, etc. I will be glad to send them to anyone who is a descendant and would like to have them for their files: Jno J. Birdwell, application #746, filed Nov. 7, 1891, listed as John J. Birdwell, living at that time at Cross Plains, TN. Was in the 28th TN Regiment Inf.. Was shot through the hips with a minnie ball. Was born in Jackson County, TN. 12--28-1840 Was in the battle of Murfreesboro, TN. Says he is married & has 5 boys & 1 girl there is also a letter from J H Chaffin William H Birdwell, 1st Sgt. Co. E, 28th TN. Infantry, enlisted 8-11-1861 and dis- charged 3-15-1862 J. M. Birdwell, member of 28th Regiment, TN.
