BIRDWELL-L@rootsweb.com Rose - check the John Birdwell line in Nacogdoches County. I don't find my listing of the children right now, but I do remember a piece from their county history book listing the family. Also there were a number of free negroes named Birdwell in Nacogdoches County. I will try to find my census listing of them. Effie .
