Rose, who is in charge of the reunion? I ask because our ancestor, Col. Allen Birdwell who came to Texas around 1845 or so, built a log cabin that has received some attention from historical societies and was given an historical marker. It was bought and moved to Henderson (I think) but I don't know who owns it now. My cousin and I tried to see it a few years ago and were soundly kicked off the property. Though we have intended to try again, we've not been back, but I think it's an official historical site and we (the reunion group) should be able to gain access. Let me know whom to contact to see if a visit is of interest , or if I can provide further information. I do have some documentation, but it's not at hand at the moment.
