I just received the reunion information for the Eighth Annual reunion from Aggie Birdwell, who heads up our reunion each year. Also, the map shows Benjamin Birdwell's (George's son) mill site onn Kendrick Creek. We hope to view these sites while we are in Kingsport during the reunion. We invite you to bring your Birdwell genealogy to show and tell at our reunion. Many items of interest are displayed at the reunions, such as old photographs, Bible records, newspaper clippings, copies of old letters and old deeds, old quilts and books with Birdwell data, etc. We love to hear stories handed down through the years and we love to have music and play games, so bring your musical instruments, dominoes, cards, pens, paper, camera and auction items. ITINERARY Thursday July, 19: Chris Birdwell of Kingsport will get with us to locate the early Birdwell land sites and cemeteries. We have a Historical Map showing old George Birdwell's land on Kendrick Creek and Fall Creek. The map also shows where Benjamin Birdwell's grist mill was located. Kingsport is having a Fun Festival starting July 13-21. www.funfest.net Friday July 20: Again visiting historical sites in Kingsport. 3:00 - 8:00 P.M. Registration in Ramada Inn Lobby Saturday July 21: We start setting up our Birdwell genealogy displays in our meeting room as early as 7:30 A.M. 9:30 A.M. Meeting called to order, greetings, introductions, show & tell, games, genealogy and music. We will break for lunch whenever. We have the meeting room until 10:00 P.M. After lunch: We will have an auction, please bring something for us to bid on. The money will benefit our reunion and the ladies love this. We need to have a short business meeting to vote on our 2002 reunion site. We are open for ideas. We will have a Birdwells Across Americaa T-shirt on display, plus order blanks.
