Howdy Barbara: The John & Lucy you ask about were some of the Stafford Co, VA family named BRIDwell. Several items confirm that "Bridwell" was the proper spelling of their surname. Some believe our George Birdwell may have originated from this same general family. However, there is no evidence supporting this theory. So several others doubt our George was connected with the Bridwell's or with Stafford Co, VA. FYI: I believe the son Simon you noted was the same one who was the Revolutionary War Vet.
