    1. Davidson Co, TN
    2. Jerry Anderson asked about these Davidson Co, Tennessee marriages. Here is what I have in the files. If anyone has corrections or alternate answers I would appreciate it if you would post them. Birdwell, Alice to Joseph House ... 5 Jan 1807 As far as I know, this Alice has not been positively identified. One possibility is that she could be a daughter of George Birdwell (1760-1816) and she had died before George wrote his will in 1816. Birdwell, Hugh to Lydia McKay ... 12 Mar 1813 Hugh was named as a son in the 1816 will of George Birdwell (1760-1816). Hugh was born about 1786 and died before 1840. I have a fair amount on most of his kids. Birdwell, Isiah to Susan Pate ...13 Aug 1816 "Isaac" was named as a son in the 1816 will of George Birdwell (1760-1816). Isaac was born about 1788 and died about 1841. His spouse was named "Susannah PAGE" rather than "Pate". I have a fair amount on most of their kids. Birdwell, Polly to William Neely ... 22 Feb 1820 "Polly" was named as a daughter in the 1816 will of George Birdwell (1760-1816). Since there were soooo many Mary Birdwells it is possible that this "Polly" could be someone other than George's daughter. Yet it is probably George's girl who was born about 1798 since George's widow and children were all still living around Davidson Co. in 1820. I have nothing further on Polly. Birdwell, John W. to Eliz Harris ... 6 Oct 1847 This John W. Birdwell appears to be the son of the elder John Birdwell (c1775-c1834) of Giles Co, Tennessee. His brothers Thomas Gaines (c1804) and William (1808) both ended up in Texas. This John W. of Davidson Co. apparently went to Texas for awhile himself and had some business ventures with his brothers. William's daughter-in-law, Annabel Green Birdwell, also mentioned this John and his family as her husband's uncle. Census data gives conflicting dates on John W.'s year of birth but it appears that he was probably born about 1815. Again, I'd welcome any corrections or comments on these notes. I hope this information helps some of you. Weldon J. Birdwell
