** High Priority ** I know that this page generally answers questions to people about Cherokee County. The name George W. Truett, born May 1869 in Clay County, possibly Hayesville, I am searching for his parents and children. George W. Truett later, at the age of 30 became the pastor of First Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas in 1899 and was their pastor for 47 years, until his death. In 1889 he moved with his father and mother to Grayson county, Texas, then to Waco, Texas where he was later a student at Baylor University. I'm really looking for detail information concerning his sisters and brothers, his parents and their sisters and brothres along with their parents. Any help would be appreciated. There were and still are many Truetts in the Andrews area with whom I am related, and I believe the Andrews Truetts are related in some way (if I can go back far enough) to the Clay county Truetts.
