For anyone who might be following this lady, who was the daughter of John Birdwell of Giles Co TN and granddau of Robert Birdwell (son of Old George) I believe her date and possibly place of death has come to light. This record was shared with me some time ago by a Dyer descendant, but I had to place genealogy aside for a long while and just started to go back and try to sort thru a huge amount of data that has piled up. Mary Birdwell and John McCormack SR of Giles Co TN had 7 children before his death in 1830, one of those was a daughter named Martha. She married Joel Dyer. Before his death she had 3 children, Zachariah, Jerome and a daughter named Tymoxsena. Martha then remarried William H Wells. We believe she had 2 sons with him. Tymoxsena Dyer married John Clinton Stephenson. It is their descendant who has copied this bible record. This is apparently the J. S. PARKER bible. Other surnames in this bible are Ruffin, Averett, and Salters. We are not certain how they all fit together. The bible lists these names connected to the Birdwell genealogy: Tymox Sena Dyer born 20 Oct 1852, died 1939 Infant son of ZL Dyer born 6 Oct 1824 age 6 days (we do not know who this is) Joel Dyer born 7 Nov 1824 died 23 Oct 1852 Martha Louise Cobb McCormich born 8 Feb 1828 Zachariah L. Dyer born 9 Oct 1846 Jeroame Dyer born 5 Feb 1849 Thomas Benton Phelps born 7 Sept 1837 (this is the son of Mary Birdwell McCormack and her 2nd husband Josiah Phelps...he is Martha McCormack's half-brother and supposed to be the child that Mary Birdwell McCormack Phelps came to Texas with) G.L. Wells born 11 May 1861 (we believe this to be the 2nd son of Martha and her 2nd husband William Wells...they had a son William H Wells JR born in approx.1846) MARY E. PHELPS died 7 Sept 1888 (we believe this to be Mary Birdwell McCormack Phelps) It is known from other sources that Thomas Hart Benton Phelps, the son of Mary Birdwell and her 2nd husband, moved from Giles Co TN to Texas, and that he died in Jones County on 17 May 1926. He lived in Stamford and was buried in Anson. It is possible that his mother died in Jones County as well. If anyone has any additional information that can aid us we would certainly appreciate it.
