Recently the MOORE List has had a problem with some Scrooge sending virus attachments with messages that appear to come from the MOORE List. This was confirmed by the List owners, and they noted that it had occurred in at least one other surname list. The list owner stated that you can't send an attachment through the list. However, somehow they were able to make their messages look as if it came from the list with a virus enclosed in an attachment. So while I don't know that we would have this problem, the moral of the story is do not open any attachment that seems to come from our Birdwell List.

This was on another list regarding the loss of records in Fayette Co., Alabama, due to courthouse fires. I hope that someone on this list either has some information or can tell me who I may contact. I am searching for the father of Andrew Jackson Birdwell that was born Aug 10 1849/50 either in TN, MO or MS. I have found a Felix G/J Birdwell that had a son by the name of Alexander Jackson Birdwell born Aug 16, 1849 in Marshall MO. Felix married Emily Smith Darnell/Donald on Jan 9, 1848 in Carroll Co, TN. The only records I have on Andrew is his marriage record to Rebecca Matilda Stinecipher in Dallas Co, MO in 1872. Two land deeds in Lawrence Co, MO dated 1883. According to family history and info on last child the family moved to Compton, Newton Co, AR where Andrew died in the Spring of 1893. In the fall of 1893 Rebecca and children moved to Davis, Murray Co. OK. I feel that they traveled with Thomas B. Edgmon and wife Harriet Birdwell (oldest child) from Harrison, Boone Co, AR. With Andrew and Alexander having similar names and birth dates, I feel that there is a great possibility that these two men may be one. Also Andrew named his first son Felix Bowden Birdwell.
