    3. This is a prank. sulfnbk.exe is not a virus. It is a part of Windows. Do not remove it. -----Original Message----- From: Velma [SMTP:tootsie5@gte.net] Sent: Saturday, December 29, 2001 10:37 AM To: BIRDWELL-L@rootsweb.com Subject: virus warning--this is no joke Hello--this is not a joke or a prank. You may receive an email from me. I just received a notice that a virus was sent to me that neither Norton or McAfee Virus allert detects and it goes to anyone in your address book. I am very sorry but the person that sent it to me did not know it was being sent either. TO REMOVE THE VIRUS FOLLOW THESE STEPS; THEY ARE EASY 1. Go to "start", then to either find or search 2. in the Search for files or folders type in "sulfnbk.exe(this is the name of the virus)" 3. in the "Look in section, make sure you are searching Drive C 4. hit "search" or find 5. if your search finds this file, it will be an ugly blackish icon that will have the name sulfnbk.exe following the icon. DO NOT OPEN IT If it does not show up on your first search, try a new search 6. Right click on the file and delete it. (I had to click right on the icon) 7. you will be asked if you want to send the file to the Recycling Bin, say yes 8. go to your desktop and right click on the recycle bin and either manually delete the sulfnbk.exe program or empty the entire bin (a notice will come on saying that this is a program and do you want to delete the entire program--say yes) 9. if you found the virus on your system, send this or a similar email to all in your address book because this is how it is transferred. I am sorry it happened but how it is getting by both Norton and McAfee is a good question. It is simple to follow the above instructions on how to get rid of it. The wawrning came to me about 1/2 hour ago and the person who notified me had received it at 9:30 a.m. Love Velma

    3. Carl, Barbara, Pete, Rose and Ray Howdy fella Birdwells ........... OK OK OK OK ... I get who he is now ... heh ..... Thanks for all the friendly replies and greetings ... While ya'll spent the past few months working on the Birdwell Reunion, I was busy working on my 40th high school reunion in San Diego ... We had a blast ... I've even made two trips back since August to visit old friends .. We had over 200 at the reunion and I had seen only two of them in the past 40 years !! I have done absolutely no genealogy work on any of my lines in about 6 months now ... I'm sorta rusty .... Anyway, if the creek don't rise, i hope to retire out there one day in the near future ... Who says "you can't go back" ??? Jer

    3. No, Shirley, I don't have Felix Grundy Birdwell. Have you checked out the Birdwell website? It is http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~birdtracks/. By the way, my brother and sister (Fred Vincent Birdwell and Carole Birdwell Johnson live in Fort Smith AR. My family moved to AR after I married. Good luck with your search for your roots! I have found it to be an exciting and rewarding experience. Shirley Crozier wrote: > > 12/16/01 > Gail: Do you have any info on Felix Grundy Birdwell in the Bible you refer > to? 3. 12/16/01 Barbara, I hope you received my 1st email. I am descendant of Birdwell and been doing genealogy for membership into DAR. What a wonderful time to join that organization! I somehow got a copy of an email you sent to Rose Birdwell, about Brian Birdwell and copied it. It was just great! Do you have any info (provable/documented) about Felix Grundy Birdwell? Also, is it permissible to perhaps pass the article on to my newspaper about Brian Birdwell and President and First Lady, Laura Bush? It would be a great time to do just that! Reply to scroz@nmo.net. 3. Dec. 16, 2001 Barbara, somehow I got a copy of an email you sent to Rose Birdwell. I am just finding my "roots" and have been amazed and humbled at what I have found so far...and all the time, right under our noses, so to speak. My grandfather, Thomas Freddie Scott (my mothers father) mother was Mary Frances Birdwell, buried in a small cemetery in the town (Gurdon, Ark.) where I was born, completely ignorant, was I...of all of this! Anyway, just wanted to say this so you would know a little about why I am writing to you. I found the article on Brian Birdwell. It was one of the most touching and loving and patroitic things I have read in a long time, about a Pres. of the U.S. The Bushes are truly America's 1st family! Could you tell me a little bit about Brian and family, who is parents, etc. are? And also, would it be out of line or inappropriate if I were to share this lovely account of the meeting with Commander in Chief, in our local newspapers? It may generate some cards of love and health to this young man. Please, please keep me informed. I would never have found this wonderful side of my family had I not been searching in genealogy for proof for my member in the DAR. What a wonderful time to join an organization such as this and I am so excited that I may become a part of it and in some way, make a difference in the patroitic side of the American people. 3. Rose, I'm sorry about your E-mail. You might consider using some E-mail program other than Outlook Express. I don't know much about it, but I'm told it's rather vulnerable. Of course, if you keep the patches installed, maybe not. Anyway, I use Eudora Pro which seems to be much less vulnerable. There are a fair number of protective steps you can take to ward of viruses. Of course, some of these reduce functionality, I'm told, but that's ok with me. Good luck in getting it all restored. 3. Barbie, do me a favor please...I lost all my email, apparently a worm got in undetected, and now i can't use my outlook express...so have to reformat the whole shebang!! Bummer, huh? Anyway, i know that a few days ago, just before outlook took it's nosedive, there was a note that came on the Birdwell List about Brian, can you resend it to me? I was getting ready to post it to BT when the whole system shut down. I would really appreciate it. Everything is going well here..Caleb is growing like a bad weed and really keeping grandma busy LOL But I love it!! He is just such a sweet baby, talking to us and laughing most of the time. Would love to send you a picture of him, but everyone is so leary of attachments anymore. My Mom has recovered well from her cataract surgery, and is looking forward to the other eye being done. I heard from Andrea..seems that she's had a lot of problems, with Joe having pancreatic problems and her breaking her arm...don't know how she manages with all the care that she and Joe have to give Ali. And Margie's got high BP, so can't come and help out. Guess that there are always problems, huh? And we all manage the best we can. How are you and Carl and Susie doing? Is she living close enough for regular visits with you? Give both my best. I wish you and yours a wonderful and safe holiday season. 2. Carl and I were watching CNN this morning about 10:45 CDT, and saw a brief interview with Brian Birdwell. He looked and sounded very good. We understand he will be getting the Purple Heart. If any of you have cable, we feel sure the interview will be repeated sometime today. Barbara Mann

    3. Gail, Mary Gaines is shown in records of some Gaines researchers as marrying Ben H. Birdwell born 18 May 1846, died 2 May 1880. I understand that Benjamin III (1856-1927) married Axie Alice Austin. I assume Benjamin III is a cousin to some degree of the Benjamin H. Birdwell who married Mary Gaines. http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=jackiekg&id=I5740 http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=PED&db=jackiekg&id=I5740&style=TEXT see also http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=smhatfield&id=I1551 >From: Gail Stephens <GSTEPHENS@SC.RR.COM> >Reply-To: BIRDWELL-L@rootsweb.com >To: BIRDWELL-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: Wives of Benjamin #2 >Date: Sun, 02 Dec 2001 14:20:26 -0500 > >Do any of you have proof that Margaret Lydia/Lydie Campbell or Mary >Gaines were wives of Benjamin, son of Benjamin, son of George?
