She was a member of Willow Avenue Church of Christ and was retired from the Chrysler Corporation. Her family includes her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Denny Landis of Cookeville; a sister, Ruth Coomer of Cookeville; two grandchildren, Terry Thornton of Westland, Mich., and Chuck Thornton of Pinckney, Mich.; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Frazier Brown, and two daughters, Robbie June Thornton and Shelby Jean LaVigne.
