Hello Everyone: Just wanted you all to know that Birdtracks has been updated again. I have been adding pictures and documents that I have been receiving over the past few weeks. There are also a lot of new census pages, mostly 1920 (Thank you, Eva), with more being added over the next few weeks. All pictures are in the notes section, at the bottom of the persons notes. Now for some news..As those of you that went to the reunion know, Dale Langston had a heart attack the day before the reunion. I received a note from her yesterday, and she is well on the road to recovery. YAY!!!!! Rose, I hope that lots of pictures are taken this coming weekend at the reunion. I will send you one of myself as I don't know how to download and scan and all that stuff. I have great news, tho. I have been selected as GRAND ORGANIST in the Order of the Eastern Stars for the coming year. I have been appointed in the whole state of Michigan, she can choose only 1 organist and only 8 appointive persons. NOBODY in God earth was more surpirsed as I was. For anyone who might be following this lady, who was the daughter of John Birdwell of Giles Co TN and granddau of Robert Birdwell (son of Old George) I believe her date and possibly place of death has come to light. This record was shared with me some time ago by a Dyer descendant, but I had to place genealogy aside for a long while and just started to go back and try to sort thru a huge amount of data that has piled up. Mary Birdwell and John McCormack SR of Giles Co TN had 7 children before his death in 1830, one of those was a daughter named Martha. She married Joel Dyer. Before his death she had 3 children, Zachariah, Jerome and a daughter named Tymoxsena. Martha then remarried William H Wells. We believe she had 2 sons with him. Tymoxsena Dyer married John Clinton Stephenson. It is their descendant who has copied this bible record. This is apparently the J. S. PARKER bible. Other surnames in this bible are Ruffin, Averett, and Salters. We are not certain how they all fit together. The bible lists these names connected to the Birdwell genealogy: Tymox Sena Dyer born 20 Oct 1852, died 1939 Infant son of ZL Dyer born 6 Oct 1824 age 6 days (we do not know who this is) Joel Dyer born 7 Nov 1824 died 23 Oct 1852 Martha Louise Cobb McCormich born 8 Feb 1828 Zachariah L. Dyer born 9 Oct 1846 Jeroame Dyer born 5 Feb 1849 Thomas Benton Phelps born 7 Sept 1837 (this is the son of Mary Birdwell McCormack and her 2nd husband Josiah Phelps...he is Martha McCormack's half-brother and supposed to be the child that Mary Birdwell McCormack Phelps came to Texas with) G.L. Wells born 11 May 1861 (we believe this to be the 2nd son of Martha and her 2nd husband William Wells...they had a son William H Wells JR born in approx.1846) MARY E. PHELPS died 7 Sept 1888 (we believe this to be Mary Birdwell McCormack Phelps) It is known from other sources that Thomas Hart Benton Phelps, the son of Mary Birdwell and her 2nd husband, moved from Giles Co TN to Texas, and that he died in Jones County on 17 May 1926. He lived in Stamford and was buried in Anson. It is possible that his mother died in Jones County as well. If anyone has any additional information that can aid us we would certainly appreciate it. Hello--I do not have the virus--I have never had the virus. I could not understand it when I contacted you saying I had it because I not only had the AVG Anti Virus but also Norton 2002 Anti Virus. Both always ck'd incoming & outgoing mail & always said no virus found.Norton would say 1 incoming file infected & put it in quarantine. Then I would get numerous messages from Mail admin. & Postmaster saying my mail was undeliverable, but I had not sent any messages. Norton has a virus removal tool program & I have run it 6 times. Each time it comes back - no virus found. Both anti virus prog. autom. up date. Today I rec'd 2 emails from Norton explaining:"in regards to the undeliver- able email message rec'd. This virus does forge the sender email address so it cannot be traced back to the orig. sender. it choses an address that it finds on an infected computer as the from address & cases have been reported in which users of uninfected computers receive complaints that they have sent an infected message to someone. For example: Linda is using a computer infected with W32 & is not using an antivirus program. When W32 performs its emailing routine it finds the email address of Harold. it inserts Harold's email address into the from line of an infected email & sends it to Janet, who then contacts HSarold & complains but when harold scans his computer, Norton does not find anything because his computer is not infected.The virus puts one email address in the To field & one in the From field of an infected email message & it appears that a persons computer is infected when in fact it could be clean." Last night I also put Norton's Firewall program in & it is supposed to keep all hacker's out & keep anyone from finding out your personal info because the virus needs this info. I have talked to Verizon & Microsoft & emailed Norton everyday since 5-30-02 when I got my first notice that Norton had quarantined a message. Since then I have gotten many repeat messages from various Postmasters & Mail Admin. & I d! elete them all. I have deleted all my email addresses as of 5-30-02 also. I do not want to change my provider & get a new address. I am just about finished up dating my URL & will let you all know when it is finished and what that new address will be for the URL. Hello everyone--I am finally free of the virus. Thanks to everyone who contacted me about it. I am confused about sending it to Howell because I did not have the email address listed. I do thank his provider though for contacting me & telling me about Virus Doctor @trendmicro. After many calls to Verizon, Microsoft & Norton 2002 I got 3 patches that were to delete the virus--from Norton 2002, from Microsoft & from Virus Doctor. I ran all 3 patches & all 3 came back & said no virus found. I have not had any problem getting email or sending it anymore either. Verizon did put me in direct mail & with that I can also get my message anywhere in the world when I am away. Take care Velma

I have just been informed that I have the W32 Klez virus. Also that it has been attached to my address book. It was told to me by L.Howell & his provider said to contact the following: http://www.antivirus.com to remove it. I have done this. I have 2 anti virus programs running on my machine-Norton 2002 and AVG but somehow it got through. It is not on my hard drive according to Norton, just in my Outlook Express & I cannot receive or send email on it. It was sent by my providoer, Verizon by the Postmaster@Verizon & they do not know how to get it off but anyone with GTE or Verizon has gotten it.
