Joseph Sherwood owned and operated a hotel in Dunnings (Elmhurst, PA) with his wife Ruth also b. 1813. Their children were: 4. Obediah b. 1836 d. OCT12, 1862 at Sharpstown, MD, of wounds rec'd at Battle of Antietam, MD. M. Susan FULLER. She (after his death) remarried to Ben Simpson of Moscow, PA. 5. Samantha b. Feb 26, 1839 m.
