Hi All, I'm on a search--aren't we all! My grandfather, Charles Byrd, had a railroad station named after him just outside of Enid, OK. He worked for the Frisco Railroad forever and was well respected by all those he worked with. When the junction was built, because of this respect, they named it after him. It was called "Byrd" junction, and I have a picture of he and my grandmother standing under the railroad sign. I would sure like to get my hands on the sign. I've checked with the railroad museum in Springfield, MO, but they responded they didn't have it, but would keep his eyes opened for it.
