Hi, I am still searching for info on N.H. Bird, he went by Nat, but family says it was Nathaniel Hawthorne Bird. He told family he was born March 4,1841 and came from Mountville, Troup Co, GA. He married Lucy Pollard b. about 1846 daughter of Joseph J. Pollard and Francis Smith of Merriweather Co GA. They came to TX about 1872 and settled on the border of Nacogdoches Co.and Rusk Co. He had 3 sons, Thomas Oswald, William Oscar, and Charles M. Bird. Some of his children changed their name to Byrd saying that had been correct spelling. I have been looking for a yr now and cant find anything on him. Am wondering if he had changed his name. He was a farmer and a good person and parent. He and his descendants have indian features, I keep wondering if that was why we cant find anything about him before TX. Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks Sherry Douglas
