John Bird S.10372 based on the military service in that war of John Bird ... John Bird was born in Duplin County; North Carolina in 1754, day month and the name of his parents are not shown. When a boy he moved with his stepfather; his name is not listed in the Camden District, South Carolina. While a resident of Camden District, South Carolina, John Bird enlisted in June 1776, served at various times in the South Carolina troops as a private.... Length of serve was two years and eight months. He was in the Floria expedition. After the Revolutionary War, he moved to Edgefield District, South Carolina, then to Montgomery County, Georgia, and then to Dale County, Alabama. He was allowed pension on his application executed November 8, 1833, at which time he was a resident of Dale County, Alabama. In 1839, soldier was living in said Dale County, with his daughter. Her name and age are not shown. The name of soldier's wife was not stated and there are no further family data. Betty
