    1. [BIRD-L] The Edward Bird Family!!
    2. Michael Kaehn
    3. After going through the census's and many obits, this is what I have put together on my Birds. Edward BIRD was born May 10, 1842 in Shropshire, England, and died January 8, 1920 in Saanich, British Columbia, Canada He married Mary Ann Abt. 1870 in Wolverhampton, England. She was born January 15, 1843 in Liverpool, England. Edward was a shoe maker by trade, in Victoria. In 1895 the BIRD Family arrived in Victoria, B.C., Canada Children of Edward BIRD and Mary Ann are: i. Douglas BIRD. Died in New York?? Either Douglas or George were supposed to have been a very good singer (Opera??) I seem to remember my grandparents saying he preformed in Chicago, but the obit of Edward BIRD says that both Douglas and George were in New York. ii. George BIRD. Died in New York?? iii. Gertrude Annie BIRD, born 1875. She married Ellis HALLSOR August 3, 1917 in Cedar Hill, British Columbia. Gertrude might not be part of this family, but the HALLSORs definitely are. iv. Harriet (Het) BIRD, born February 27, 1876 in Wolverhampton, England; died August 25, 1955 in Victoria, B.C.. She married George CHADWICK December 5, 1895 in Victoria, B.C.. v. Mary BIRD, born July 12, 1878 in Wolverhampton, Westmidlands, England; died August 27, 1970 in Victoria B.C.. She married Arthur Edward FORD 1905 in Washington, U.S.A. (?). vi. Elizabeth (Beth) BIRD, born December 10, 1880 in Wolverhampton, Westmidlands, England; died December 2, 1945 in Victoria, B.C.. She married (2) Henry Richard NICHOLSON April 3, 1913 in Vancouver, B.C.. vii. Georgina BIRD, born September 6, 1884 in Wolverhampton, Westmidlands, England. viii. Henry BIRD, born December 21, 1886 in Wolverhampton, Westmidlands, England; died April 16, 1938 in Saanich, British Columbia. If anybody has any information on this family, I would be very pleased to hear from you. At the present time I have no other information on the two brothers Douglas and George other than one of them had a very good voice and I thought preformed in Chicago. I would think that this would have been around the turn of the century. The only other name that I know is related to this family, but I don't know how is JENNINGS. Many Thanks! Michael Kaehn Victoria, B.C. Canada
