I am looking for information on: John Bird, a goldsmith in London,England, who married Grace Staggs. father and mother of: William Bird, d Dec 4, 1704 at Westover Plantation, VA. He married Mary Horsmanden b 1652 d Nov. 9,1699 in VA, She was d/o Rev. Daniel Horsmanden. William came to the colonies in 1677 to take over the estate of his uncle, Thomas Staggs. William lived at "Belvidere" first then built "Westover on the James", founded Richmond, VA. His son William II married Lucy Parke first then married Maria Taylor. I do not know of any of his children. William II surveyed the line that divided Virginia and the Carolina's There are references to other children of William and Mary Horsmanden but I cannot find names.
