    1. [BIRD-L] CLEOPATRA - Your step-grandmother
    2. Fellow "BIRD-scribers", Last month, a message sent to our list by Sandra Ragan / Plum Grafik was distributed to the BIRD list. For those of you who are of that line, this message will stretch the vertical capabilities of your FTM file…by taking you back yet another 35 generations. I subscribe to this list looking for the parents of my earliest known BIRD ancestor, JOHN BIRD (b. Nov 4, 1792 in Pendleton Co., VA / d. May 12, 1869 in Trivoli, Peoria Co., Ill) who married MARGARET HAYS (b. April 3, 1793 in Augusta Co., VA / d. April 19, 1871). JOHN and MARGARET had 10 children…JOHN may have had 10 kids, but I am finding it hard to believe he had any parents! I am also of the TILGHMAN (TILLMAN) line (JOHN's great grand daughter married into this line). This particular line goes back to the 2nd century BC through CHARLEMAGNE. So, if your BIRD line goes through CHARLEMAGNE, this listing will include 35 generations of grandparents you would not know about if you were content to stop with CHARLEMAGNE. The source is a 1959 book written by JAMES DAVID TILLMAN, JR. titled, "Tillman & Hamilton Family Records". This listing starts with one of the more famous people of his time and works forward to CHARLEMAGNE. Enjoy!!! 1. MARK ANTHONY (BC 83-30), married 4th, OCTAVIA, half sister of CAESAR AUGUSTUS. CUNOBELINE's brother, CARADOC, went to Rome in 60 A.D.. Their son: 5. MARIUS (Meric) married a daughter of BOADICEA, Queen of Iceni (died 62 AD) whose husband PROSUTAGUS left a will in 60 AD bequeathing his wealth jointly to his two daughters and the Roman Emperor, hoping to sae their inheritance. However, it was disregarded by the Roman authorities in Britain. The record of Marius is well preserved in ancient Welsh manuscripts. Iceni is now Suffolk and Norfolk counties in England. LOUIS I "The Pious" (778-804)(to the TILGHMAN / TILLMAN line) If any my fellow 'BIRD-scribers" are interested in how the TILLMANs split from the BIRD line at this point, please let me know. The TILLMAN data base is one of the largest around. I have not seen the "CHARLEMAGNE" book mentioned in this forum last month…am curious to know where the lines do actually split. Hope you've enjoyed this genealogical romp through the dark ages!!! Kind of leaves you wandering just who BELI's parents are (see #4)(?). Tom Wilson (Boca Raton, FL)
