    3. Homer L. Bird PARKERSBURG - Homer L. Bird, 75, of Parkersburg died Nov. 24, 1998, in Marietta Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was a native of Putnam County, a retired roustabout and lead man from Columbis Gas with 45 years' service, a Navy veteran of World War II and a member and deacon of Fairlawn Baptist Church. Surviving: wife, Wanda Jeffers Bird; daughter, Joyce Lorentz of Belpre, Ohio; sons, Barry Bird of Wichita, Kan., Dennis Bird of Newtown, Pa., Gregory Bird of Parkersburg; brothers, Noah Bird of St. Albans, Raymond Bird of Scott Depot; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairlawn Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Yeager officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and one hour prior to service at the church.
