Eldridge Millgedge Bird has been a "dead end" for my family for many years. Briefly, my maternal lineage goes as follows: My mother is Edith Marie Bird(maiden name) b. 1923 Thurber, Tx Her father: Eldred Holloway Bird b. 1890 Hazelhurst, Ms His Father: Dr. Levi Garrison Bird b. 1846 Edgefield, Edgefield, SC His Father: Eldridge Milledge Bird b. b.1805 Edgefield, SC We have never proven who his parents were. There has been speculation that his father was Captain Daniel Bird b. 1784, who lived in the Edgefield District, and was from a prominent local family. I studied the 1810 and 1820 Cesus reports for Edgefield District and based on that information believe that it is a reasonable conclusion that Daniel Bird was not the father of Eldred Bird. I could be wrong, however. I would be willing to trade information with you in any form you choose. I can prepare a Gedcom, pedigree charts, or whatever you would like. Who do you show as the parents of Eldred Millege Bird and what was his year and place of birth? I will be looking forward to hearing from you!!
