I recently ran across a few deeds from Mansfield Twp, Sussex/Warren Co, NJ, that link all these Birds together. It seems in 1818 Benjamin and Edward owed money to a Thomas Martin, so property in Mansfield Twp, then Sussex, now Warren Co, was auctioned off by the sherriff. After a few auctions and no buyers, Birtis Bird eventually bailed them out. Bitis later sold the land in 1833. There were other sales between the four. Here's my question - does anyone have any other info about these guys? They are probably all sons of Edward Bird of Beattystown (son of James Bird). I really want to know about Benjamin, because I have nothing else on him except a marriage date. Furman and Birtis moved to Michigan in the 1830's.
