Ray, I'm not Miss Meow but I do have the following Thomas Birds in VA. Thomas Byrd, b. 1653 in London, England, d. 1710 in Henrico Co., VA, m. Maria/Mary Howlett. This Thomas was the son of John Bird, b. 1613 and Grace Stegg. Thomas and Maria Howlett Bird had a son, Thomas, b. about 1690 in VA. There was a William Byrd, b. 1543 in England, d. 1623, m. Juliana Birley, had a son, Thomas Byrd, Sr. This was in "Notable Southern Families" and while I believe they were in VA, I don't have any proof. A Thomas Bird was granted a headright in Stafford Co., VA 14 Dec 1677. Thomas Bird married Patience Ellzoy and the only date I have on this family is 1786 when Patience's father, Lewis Ellzoy, died in Fairfax Co., VA. Thomas Bird b. abt 1650, d. 1687 in Surry, VA, m. Mary (?). This Thomas was the son of William Bird and Hannah Grendon Jennings and their children were: William, Thomas, b. 1675 in Surry Co., VA, Tabitha, Frances Mary, Elizabeth. This is a later date than you are looking for but someone else asked about the Birds in Lincoln Co., NC: Thomas Bird, b. Aug 1784, d. 2 Oct 1859 in Lincoln Co., NC, m.
