Just started researching my maternal grandmother's family. (Fairly) accurate info starts with John BIRD of Bridgenorth, born 1697 married Mary (possibly Brookes) son was Edward Bird, born 1725 He married Jane Salter in the Cathedral Church, Bristol in 1750 (It didn't become a Cathedral until about 1850!) They had eleven children, Mary born 1751; John, 1753; Henry, 1755; Jane, 1757; Ann, 1758 and others. IGI online gets me back two more generations (probably!).
