Loretta, My name is Jynelle Byrd Caffey. I am also a descendant of Andrew Bird/Byrd and Magdalene. I wonder if you would share you family information on your Adam Bird family. I have his name tenatively listed as a son, but have seen no proof of his relationship. I have a cousin in Virginia who has the original family land patents or grants to Andrew. He also has the old family Bibles of the next generation, Andrew (Jr.) for a three generations down. This is some of the information I have for Andrew (the pioneer) in Virginia. Ancestry Genealogy Library, Online copied to file November 1997. Scotch Irish Settlement in Virginia, Vol. 1, p.435 MAGDALENE BIRD, widow of ANDREW BIRD, and his eldest son, ANDREW BIRD, petition to administer. Note: Andrew the pioneer in Virginia. ** Scotch Irish Settlement in Virginia, Vol. 1, p.438, 1751 Petition of ANDREW and MAGDALENE BIRD, administrators of ANDREW BIRD. James Porteus was their attorney, but now deceased, 1751. In a message dated 7/20/00 5:02:33 PM Central Daylight Time, BIRD-D-request@rootsweb.com writes: << Judy, Thanks for the web site. Lots of info on my Byrds too. I especially appreciate your source citations. I descend from Andrew Bird/Byrd and Magdalene Jones/Jonasson and your information matches mine, except I don't show a son named John born around 1730 in Chester Co PA. Do you recall what your source was? He's not mentioned in Andrew's will. I have quite a bit of info on the descendants of Adam Byrd who moved to Washington Territory in 1852.
