Hi, I'm new to the list and would like to know if anyone has a BIRD-MURRAH(MURPHY?MURRAY) connection. It was written that my gggggrandmother, _______ MURRAH, was the sister of Amos MURRAH and Cass MURRAH, both early settlers of Limestone Co., AL. An Amos Bird MURRAH, b. ca 1806 in KY (according to 1850 census, Limestone Co., AL) was probably the son of either Amos or Cass MURRAH. ____ MURRAH, my 4ggrandmother, married Thomas PHILLIPS. Their daughter said that her mother, ___MURRAH, was born in TN. This daughter was born in TN or AL in 1814. I found a listing of NC Land Grants in TN which listed: 1782- Washington Co., TN : #'s 37, 138, 144, 169, 180 - William Murphy # 181 - Amos Bird # 360 Jonathan Bird 1786- Green Co., TN: #1606 John Murphy #1642 Amos Byrd 1787- Green Co., TN: #1756 Amos Byrd Any information would be appreciated.
