    1. Re: [BIRD-L] Sallie Bird Robertson Co Tenn
    2. Linda, My Fifth Great Grandfather was Thomas T. Byrd who died in Robertson County Tenn. in 1805. His brother William Byrd died there in 1809. James Crabtree witnessed Thomas will and was security for letters of administration for Williams wife Betsy Jernigan at Williams death. According to court documents the Crabtrees lived close to Byrds Creek. These Crabtrees and Byrds/Birds migrated with each other from Virginia to East Tenn and then Robertson County Tenn. The 1782 Washington County Virgina Tax List shows 7 Byrds and 11 Crabtrees to include James Crabtree Jr. A Thomas Byrd was Constable on the Holston River in that area. James Crabtree was the Constable of Robertson County at the time he witnessed Thomas T Byrds will in later years. In 1783 the Green County Tax List which is just across the state line from Washington Cty Va. shows James Crabtree and Amos, John and Joseph Bird. The Bird/Byrd name spelling varies depending upon who the scribe was. There are several descendants of Thomas T Byrd researching these familes and connections. We have been looking for Crabtree connections and supposed that there were some Bird/Crabtree marriages out there somewhere. Could you please tell me all that you know of your ancestors marriage or movements around the country before or after the marriage. This might help with the puzzle. I would have to say that you are a descendant of either Thomas, William, John, Francis or Amos Byrd who were all in and around Robertson County. My uneducated guess would be Thomas or William. Danny Cooper Byrd Hi I am try to find my gg-grandmother whom I have very little to go on. I believe she was born around 1796 in Robertson Co........ Tenn. She married John Alfred Crabtree and had 8 children. It is possible she was part Creek Indian. Any information will be appreciated. Linda Crabtree Thorne
