To whom it may concern: This is a transcription of information collected by Otto Bird of Notre Dame University (IN); it appears to be largely based on a book titled "Geanealogical (sic) Sketch of the Bird Family, having its origin in Hartford, CT" by Isaac Bird. Some information was further confirmed by Otto Bird using Farmington, CT town records. I have added some information that I feel very confident about from other sources. These additions are indicated in square brackets []. A question mark indicates some question or problem with a particular date, and two question marks indicates doubtful information, IMO. Here's what I have at this point in time: 1. THOMAS BIRD -- at Hartford CT as early as 1644 [probably earlier]. [b. 1593? or 1600?? in England] d. Children: Esther Samuel* [NOTE: The Samuel who is a descendant of Joseph Bird (#2, above) may in fact be from his eldest son Joseph, not from Samuel the next to youngest under #3, who would then become an uncle. Regardless, the line is clearly re-established with the entry below.] 4. SAMUEL BIRD (from F.T.R. 2.91) b. Farmington June 10, 1699 m.
