Thomas E. Byrd named his children after members of his family. I would to find out the names of his parents and siblings and continue on with my research. Byrd reported that he was born in TN. Also, on the census, it is recorded that he was a veteran of the Civil War. Thomas, also known as Thos, is of Scotch-Irish descent. He named his children after members of his own family. Have been unable to locate the burial plot for Thomas. Believe he is buried somewhere in Colfax county.
