    3. Last week I asked for a source about Abraham who died in Fayette Co., KY. Jynelle Byrd Caffey sent a newspaper reference "The Monitory" (Lexington, KY) March 23 ? 1820, so now I'm comfortable and confident with that information. In return, I want to share another (short) document from Bourbon Co. KY, that "might" connect the two Abrahams. Comments from any of you are welcome. Abraham and John Bird were both in Bourbon Co. KY by 1788 (personal property tax lists) and I THINK they came from the Shenandoah Valley, VA). In 1798 Abraham Byrd gave power of attorney to John Byrd, both of Bourbon, no relationship between the two given, because he was moving. Too bad Abraham didn't say to where he was moving! Can anyone confirm that the Abraham of Bourbon is the Abraham who died in Fayette, or another? Know all men by these presents that I Abraham Byrd of the County of Bourbon and State of Kentucky, for divers good causes and considerations me hereunto moving. Have made ordained, authorized, nominated and appointed ... John Byrd of the county aforesaid m true and lawful attorney for me and in my name, ... Abraham Bird L.S. [locus sigli, in place of signature] 25 March 1798. Sealed and Delivered in the presence of us: Laban Shipp, Thos. Evans. Proved by the oath of Laban Shipp, 2 May 1798 Ms. Marty Hiatt, CGRS "Document what you find, listen to what you are told, and especially, love and respect your work."
