Discovered the following while cleaning out old papers. It is unknown to me whether or not Mack Byrd is among "my" Byrds but I did not want to throw away this obit without posting it for others. The Kentucky Post, Thursday, December 29, 1994 (part of The Cincinnati Post & published for Northern KY readers): "Mack Byrd, 67, of Crittenden, died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, a member of Operating Engineers Local Union No. 18, East Bend Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. His daughter, Anita Byrd, died in 1970. Survivors include his wife, Alma Byrd; sons, James Richard Byrd of Dry Ridge and William Reed Byrd of Crittenden; and two grandchildren. Services will be at noon Friday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 10:00 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in East Bend Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Crittenden Baptist Church or the charity of the donor's choice." Hope this is of some use to someone.
