Hi Bird Listers from Down Under: This is my first posting in about a year. Since writing last, my husband and I made a once in a lifetime trip to the USA and met a couple new "alive" Bird cousins and thankfully found out quite a bit more about our family. It is family lore that our Bird family came from Co. Meath near the Hill of Tara. We believe that Thomas' first wife, Catherine, died before they left for Toronto Canada in the mid 1840's. They left Toronto and went to Saginaw, MI in about 1865 and then on to WA in about 1890. We have checked LDS IGI records but found nothing. Do any of you have any ideas for us? Wouldn't it be fabulous if one of you are a relation!!! WOW!!! We really don't know where to search for Irish records and on our pensions we can't afford to hire a researcher.
