My grandfather, Rudolph Casson m Easter Belle Tarvin 1921 Elzie Mayfield Tarvin m Bertha Thornton 1903 Preston Thornton m Aldora Bryan 1880 Benjamin Bryan m Sarah Ann Dye 1851 Isaac Dye m Clarissa Bird/Byrd 1831 All the above were in Campbell County, KY. I am attempting to discover Clarissa's parents & siblings names and learn about her husband, Isaac Dye. I have the following raw data: The bondsman for Clarissa Bird/Byrd was Foster Byrd. In the 1850 Campbell Co., KY census I found the following: Household 219 John K. Bird, 73, M, farmer, real estate value $900, b. VA Nancy " , 64, F, b. KY Betsey " , 31, F, KY Wm. " , 21, M, Cooper, KY (This is probably John Byrd & Nancy Foster who m 1804 Campbell Co., KY Household 224 John Bird, 26, M, farmer, $800, KY, Married w/in the year Ann " , 21, F, KY, Married w/in the year (This is probably Jno. H. Byrd & Ann Yelton who m 1850 Campbell Co., KY Household 232 Foster Bird , 38, M, farmer, $3,900, KY Margaret " , 37, F, " (yes, there is a ditto here), KY Mildred H. " , 14, F, KY Washington " , 13, M, KY Wm. M. " , 11, M, KY Nancy M. " , 10, F, KY Eliza " , 8, F, KY John H. " , 6, M, KY James " , 5, M, KY Lilia E. " , 3, F, KY Household 235 Isaac Dye , 49, M. farmer, $1,300, N. J. Clarrissa " , 46, F, KY Sarah A. " , 18, F, KY Nancy E. " , 12, F, KY Wm. F. " , 8, M, KY Isaac M. " , 6, M, KY The above data leads me to believe that John K. Bird & Nancy Foster are the parents of Foster & Clarissa, though this is by no means certain. I did not have an index for the 1850 census but was scouring the Grants Lick and Tibbetts Crossing areas where most of my relatives lived. In addition to the above I have family group sheets that were posted on the internet by Pamela East. She identifies Foster Byrd's wife as Margaret True Gosney but I do not find their marriage indexed in the Campbell Co., KY marriage records. Is anyone on this list researching this or these Byrd/Bird families? My interest is especially Clarissa who m Isaac Dye but I like to cast my net rather broadly. When I was in Campbell Co., KY last week I jotted down all the Bird/Byrd marriages listed in the indexes. They only give the marriage year but I would be happy to post that info here.
