Charles, Myself and about a dozen other Byrd/Bird researchers are trying to trace the roots of Francis Byrd that died 1796 in Davidson County, Tennessee. He previously owned land in Hawkins/Sullivan/Washington Counties in East Tennessee and prior to that in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. The Davidson County Land was received by warrant for his six years service in the Revolution, (North Carolina Continental Line). He was married to Hannah Blackmore of Blackmore's Fort in East Tenn/SW Va. Had a daughter named Mary who married a Bounds. Seemed to be from a large family with brothers named Thomas, John, William, Richard, Joseph, among others. Affiliated families at that time were Crabtrees, Tredways, Pikes, Browns, Armstrongs, Bounds, Phillips, Rules, Campbells, Gores, Holemans, Choates, Shoates, Gilberts, Finleys, English or England, Stuarts, among others. Am sure many of this Byrd/Bird line migrated to Kentucky as well as middle Tennessee below the Kentucky line. War Service Land Warrants were given to veterans from NC in middle Tennessee. They were given to Virginia veterans in Kentucky. These Byrds/Birds lived and moved back and forth around the apex of VA, NC, and what is today Tenn and Ken. Am interesting in anything you might be able to tell us about the Francis Byrd you mentioned on the Bird List that died before 1864. Thank you, Danny Cooper Byrd Charles wrote; I have a Henry Byrd born 1815 in , Campbell, KY. He died in 1854 in , Pendleton, KY. His children are mentioned in Francis Byrd's will. I know only that Francis died before 1864 and was married to a Catharine who died in 1868 but may not be Henry's mother. He had a sister Nancy who married a Francis Cram. If these tie into your family I would appreciate knowing. Other wise I guess there are at least two families of Byrds in Campbell Co. Charles E. Olsen ceolsenga@Juno.com Newnan, GA
