I am looking for someone with information on William H.M. Bird. The Soundex for the 1880 Brooklyn, Kings County, New York Census lists: William H. M. Bird born abt 1822 in England wife, Maria N. Bird born abt 1822 in England son, Josipha Bird, 17, born abt 1863 in England son, William J. Bird, 33, born abt 1847 in England grandson, William J. Bird, 8, born abt 1872 in New York grandson, John J. Bird, 6, born abt 1874 in New York granddaughter, Maria N. Bird, 4, born abt 1876 in New York I think that the son Josipha is actually a misspelling for Joseph and that he is the adopted son of William and Maria. Maria being his birth aunt. My ggrandfather was born Joseph Marston Smith in November 1863 in England. His parents died his first year and he was adopted by his aunt and her husband by the name of Bird. He was sent to America to live with them in 1864. I am hoping to confirm or deny these people as his adopted family. Thank you, Wendy Wiley
