    3. The "ml" part at the end of the URL was cut off. Once you have clicked on the URL and your browser opens, let it finish, then add the "ml" to the end of the URL and hit "go" again. You should be taken to the site then. Don't include the quote marks. This URL is a very large one so the entire name wrapped to the next line and that part was not highlighted. This happens on long URL's. 3. Go to the IL government web site here: http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/genealogy/globsrch.ht ml This site is awesome! You can order different documents from there for very little cost. They have a wonderful search engine and marriage records up to 1900, and are always adding more that are later than 1900. You cannot go wrong using this site for IL research. I am certain you will want to bookmark this page. It is their global search page. good luck, Tina Hall list admin: Byrd-L, Surgener-L -----Original Message----- From: Neil E. 1. [BIRD-L] Jerry Byrd in HAWAII
    2. DANA DI RITO
    3. For the Byrds out there: Many years ago Jerry Byrd came to Hawaii. He tells the story which I hope my memory hasn't failed me. As a little boy he listened to "Hawaii Calls" and fell in love with the steel guitar. He started playing and practicing on it and later became enamored with Hawaiian music. He must have come to Hawaii many years ago maybe at 40ish. He impressed Hawaiian musicians and in short time was invited to play with the local musicians. (This is VERY rare, believe me!) He is probably one of the best steel guitarists in Hawaii and greatly admired and respected. I've forgotten his age but would guess over 80. He is balding with red/grey hair and lots of red hair on his arms/hands. Maybe you have a missing Byrd? Dana in Hawaii

    1. [BIRD-L] Naturalization Questin
    2. Josh Pangier
    3. Good morning, I have found that the information regarding immigration year on the 1900 census is not always accurate. In fact, in my research, I have yet to find any accuracy in the year listed as immigration (according to the census) and the actual date of immigration according to either naturalizaion papers or ship lists. One of the greatest differences II have found for one of my ancestors is over ten years. Acoording to the census, he came to America in 1855, when I finally found him on a ship list, he and the ship left port 1898. Happy Bird hunting.

    3. Good Morning, I want to express my appreciation to all who shared their information and expertise concerning my question on the naturalization papers of my g grandfather, Henry Bird of Lincolnshire. To sum up what I have found, these papers may contain very little, if any helpful information, or they may contain some lucky finds such as letters, a photo, etc. I found nothing new. But, because of a suggestion from one who reponded to my query, I did search out my copy of the 1900 census, and there, I did find a year of emigration, 1846. What confuses me is that it seems a cousin in England told me my g grandfather was found there in the 1851 census. It could be that he returned for a short while. Oh well, the mystery continues. I guess this is one aspect of genealogy that makes it so much fun!! Please accept my apologies for the time it has taken me to express my appreciation. My computer and I have both been under the weather. Could we both have the same virus??? Thanks again! Doug

    3. I would like to put this on the Board again. It seems that New Port Road in East Moors is where the business was. Tar and Resin Destillers. In the who's Who in Wales 1933. The Book said they lived Newport Road, Cardiff. Tel 182 . Also said Lillian Waite Husband Frank Bird. Marriage Certificate said Charles H. In the 1881 Census home 38 Newport Road Business or also address 98 Newport Road.
