    1. [BIRD-L] William Bird and Bridgetta Huling - of Birdsboro, PA
    2. I would appreciate anyone who can help me find additional info/sources to prove or disprove the following 7 William Bird Connections: WBC#1 - Mary (Bird #013) Sadowsky's son, worked as a Wagoneer for William Bird. WBC#2 - Bridget Huling's Aunt Magdelene Jones married Andrew Bird, Jr. WBC#3 - Andrew Huling moved to VA one mile from Andrew Bird. WBC#4 - Bird Va Iron Forge connection to Abraham Bird. WBC#5 - Descendent of William Bird and Bridgetta Huling moves to Georgia just like Borgon Bird. WBC#6 - SPECULATION - Any info that supports or disproves that Mary Bird #012 (sister of William Bird of Birdsboro, Pa married James Peters. A. August 1997 - Peters and Allied Families Genealogical Quarlerly ("P&AFGQ" hereafter) "Supposedly James Peters came to America in 1748 from Ireland. He married Mary Bird. In 1750, he drowned in the Susquehanna River... his death caused by a lot of silver money on his person.... Posthumously a son, John Peters was born." B. June 1999 - P&AFGQ I speculated that James Peters drowns at Clark's Ferry(just below) Peters Mountain. This speculation based on an 1871 article in The Pike County Republican, "An Interview with with Rachel Peters Vandervort". In the article she says her father was born 1752 in Sherman's Valley. C. September 1999 - P&AFGQ I compile an ancestry of Rachel Pownall. Who married John Peters (son of James and Mary 'BIRD' Peters). Her mother, Effie Bi(u)rd is found to be Elisha Bird and Cathriina Ringo thanks to the help of Judy Pisano, Robert B. Ringo, and later Herman Fagley and Leo and Doris Berger. The marriage of Rachel and John Peters occurs in 1779. (Elisha Bird is the brother of Mary 'BIRD #13' Sadowsky and uncle to William, Borgon, Mary #012, and Andrew) D. June 2001 P&AFGQ Mary Bird #013 Sadowsky moves to Hampshire County, WV near Patterson's Creek. This per Marilyn Coalla. E. September 2000 P&AFGQ Annnounce Myrna Peters Johnson's 1983 speculation of James Peters (part owner of coalbrookdale ironworks) being somehow connected to the Birds of Birdsboro, PA F. September 2001 P&AFGQ Myrna Peters speculation revisited by myself. Thanks in primary part to Hermon Fagley, who pinpoints a Colebrookdale Iron works 6 miles from Douglasville, PA. G. September 2001 P&AFGQ (1) Marcus Huling (Brigetta's brother) found to be living opposite Peter's Mountain at Sherman's creek. This the Speculated drowning place of James Peters. Based on the web page at http://maley.net/transcription/BioEncyl/BEChap7-109-124.htm Transcribed by Vincent E. Summers vsummers@cstone.net Date of transcription: 11 Jan 2001 (2) Brigetta Huling's brother, John Huling second marriage is to Ann Rambo. How connected to Peter Rambo is unknown at this time. The significance of Peter Rambo is that he is found to be a cousin of Bridgetta Huling. The source of this is: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/m/c/c/Barbara-J-Mccormick/index.htm l Barbara Jane McCormick's web page. They are cousin's by Mons Svensson Lom. Back to Peter Rambo....he married a Mary Peters (dau. of Peter Peters per Len Clardy - 30 yr Researcher of this Family) in 1748. /their son Ezekiel Rambo moved to Southbranch Mtn, WV (near Romney) in 1788. John and Rachel 'POWNALL' Peters moved to Southbranch Mnt and deeds have been found from 1806 -1811. Here, Mary 'PETERS' Rambo has a sister Hannah Peters, who marries a Robert Parker, Sr. and they have a child Robert Parker, Jr. Robert jr marries Sarah Campbell and Sarah Campbell's brother John Campbell (Donald W. Campbell the source on this). John Campbell has a son Joseph Campbell who marries Elizabeth Peters(dau. of John and Rachel 'POWNALL' Peters. 2. Richard & Jeannette Byrd
    3. Byrd/Bird Researchers: The following Byrd/Bird genealogy is widely accepted. Richard Byrd, Sr. abt.1711-1796, mar. (1) unknown (2) Mary O'Dyer Child: Richard Byrd, Jr. (also known as Richard Byrd of Johnston County who died about 1818) abt 1752-1818, mar. Elizabeth Sparkman, July 30, 1785. Children: Edward Byrd John Byrd Redding Byrd Bright Byrd George Byrd Richard Byrd Benjamin Byrd Elizabeth Byrd Both Richard Byrd, Sr. and Richard Byrd, Jr. should appear in the 1790 census index. It is possible that Sr. was to old (79) to be living alone and could have been enumerated under his son, Jr. Please select Richard Byrd, Jr. (aka Richard Byrd of Johnston Co.) from the following census information. 1790 NC census list of Richard Birds/Byrds Surname, Given Name, County, 1. BIRD, RICHARD, DOBBS, 2. BIRD, RICHARD JR, DOBBS, 3. BIRD, RICHARD SR, DOBBS, 4. BIRD, RICHD, ORANGE, 5. BIRD, RICHARD, HALIFAX, 6. BIRD, RICHARD, RANDOLPH, 7. 3. I am looking for JAMES BIRD who was a Farmer/Butcher in Almondsbury, Glouc, in the early 1800's. My research to date indicates that he married ANN PENNANT in St Peters Church, Liverpool, Lancs - Feb 7th 1803. I am looking for any information - parents / date of birth/marriage/siblings, which may help me in further research. I have the birth certificate of SAMUEL BIRD which shows the address of JAMES and ANN to be Gils (Gills ?) Lake Marsh Farm in 1815. They had another son CHARLES. This is all I know to date. 3. Jan: I have a Randolph connection to the BURD family: here is what I know. my Randolph BURD married Elizebeth LENHART, b. 1810 dau of: Abraham LINHART and Sarah BYERLY. Her siblings were Joseph Linhart married Elazabeth Baughman, Anna Maria Linhart married Samuel Keck, Anna Barbara Linhart, Peter Linhart, Maria Dorthea (Dorthy) Linhart married Joseph Gongaware, Margaretta Linhart, Sarah Linhart married Jacob Kunkle, Susanna Linhart also married a Joseph Gongaware, Lavina Linhart married George Knappenberger, and Michael Linhart. I am really interested in finding out more about Elizabeth Lenhart and Randolph Burd more so than the Lenhart/Linhart's. I think they (Randolph Burd and Elizabeth Linhart) were from Westmorland County PA. The daughter of Randolph and Elizabeth Burd was Susannah born 1827. She is my gr gr grandmother and she married John F. GEARHART who was born 1825 in PA. I know nothing of Randolph Burd's siblings. I do know that John F. Gearhart who married Susannah Burd named one of his Children James Randolph Gearhart, and the brother of James Randolph Gearhart who was Charles Simon Gearhart named one of his daughters, Lura Burd Gearhart. That is all I know of the Randolph name in connection with the Burd name. Would love to find out more. thanks so much. 3. I'm searching for a Bird/Byrd connection to my gggrandfather, Anderson Bird Randolph b 1832 Tn., son of William Thomas and Nancy Reed Randolph. His middle name is so unusual that I think there must be a connection to the Bird families. Do any of you Birds have a Randolph in your tree? Jan Patton jpatton@cftnet.com
