In your E-Mail resent-from: [email protected] dated 10/7/97 you listed a web site with Bird/Byrd names at http://home.att.net%7Ec.middleton/index.html#anchor 387104 When I try to access this address, I get an error message saying aol can't access it . I did note that when they reprint the address, they leave out the % sign following net. I tried this repeatedly with the same result. What could I be doing wrong? Or is Aol doing something wrong. Please help. Cact [email protected]
Good morning everyone, I have been getting a lot of bounced mail, especially from the BIRD and ALLEN list the last few days. Most of it has been from "mail box full" and similar messages. Just wanted to remind everyone, if you don't check your mail boxes and they do get full, after 4 or 5 bounces you are automatically unsubscribed from the list. This is the way Rootsweb's server is set up. Thank you, Sharon Workman Straight [email protected] List Owner DRUMM. It does not cover all states and all counties, nor all years. But they are working on it. It can be found at http://www.doitnow.com/~moravia/census.html Hope this helps. I am looking for information about John Bird, Jr., b. about 1754 Duplin, NC, died about 1840 Dale Co., AL. Married second Elizabeth Neel. Possible sons, Green Byrd, Isham Byrd, and a daughter. Probably other children. I need proof of parentage of Green. Green married Mary "Polly" Archer, the widow of Gideon Jones of South Carolina. John was presumably the son of John Byrd, b. ca 1725, Bertie Co., NC. m. Catherine King. He died about 1761, Duplin Co., NC. John (1725) had children John, Jr., Bethiah, Celia, and Michael. I have been told that John (1725)'s father was William Byrd, b. ca 1704, m. Jean Bell. His father (I was told) was John Byrd, Jr. b. ca 1698 in VA. m. in Berkley NC to Rebecca Sutton Peterson. John Byrd, Sr. of VA was his father. Any assistance appreciated. Betty

The men were enroute to Mascoutah to attend a homecoming. They were brought to St. Mary's hospital in a Centralia Ambulance that had been called to the scene. Upon reaching the local hospital, the men were given treatment by physicians who had been summoned. Richard Bird apparenttly was the most seriously injured. A physician said that his skull may possibly be fractured, while he received a cut on his left hand. Leo Bird suffered possible internal injuries and severe abrasions on his face. Richard was semiconscious upon his arrival at the hospital, while his brother was suffersing intensely from pain. Leo told attendants that he and his brother had passed a truck west of Sandoval where their car overturned upon coming back on their side of the pavement. The small roadster in which they were riding was practically demolished. When asked by attendants relative to their ages, Richard said that both were about 50 years. old. When the car overturned, both men were pinned beneath the wreckage. E. A. Boles of East St. Louis, who was enroute to Centralia, said he came upon the wrecked car and helped extricate the men. he followed the ambulance to this city to render whatever assistance he could. Both men are unmarried. Source: Centralia, Il Sentinel, page 1, Saturday, 1 Aug 1931 Some Local Census Notes: This is a Bird family that lived nearby and during the same time period. Kaite Welcome -- glad to see you on the List! Nancy
I'm just testing to see if I am on the list. I have joined but have not seen any messages come in.... I don't want to upset anyone..but..just checking!! Thanks!! kaite..
This message is directed to those of you who are related to the following BYRD and DEATON family in NC. If you are not related, please delete and I apologize. Dr. Lloyd Bailey of NC printed a 50 copies of the family history of the following Byrd family several years ago. It was almost 1000 pages long and cost $68.00. Unfortunately I failed to get one at the time. Mr. Bailey said that he would reprint Vol. 2 if I could get 30 people who want to buy it. Price $68.00. This book is incredibly difficult to find. I get nothing out of this--I just want to have it reprinted. I doubt if Mr. Bailey will ever recover all of his research cost for the book. Email me at [email protected] if you are interested. I promised not to bother Mr. Bailey until I had enough orders. Barbara Ward
