    3. I'm also looking for a Byrd family for this same time period. The area caught my eye. My grandmother was a Tate, b. in Hancock Co. Tenn, but mother from Lee Co. VA. Supposedly her grandfather Tate was married to a Byrd. Next to him at a small cemetery is buried Rev. Peter A. Byrd b. Dec 14 1858 in VA. Peter's wife was Nancy Cornelia Byrd b. Oct 17 1868. My dad pointed to the grave and said it was his grandfather's as was the Tate. It just doesn't quite compute somehow. Both of these men were traveling preachers and it has been hard to find much of anything about them. Just happened to stumble on a cousin from my grandmother's maternal line that let me know what specific area of VA the family was from. There is another Byrd, also a Rev. buried down the hill from Peter Byrd that may also be a relation but I can't find the names and date right now. The cemetery is in Thornfield, MO. 1. Old Byrds...Morgans?
    2. Tom Camfield
    3. I have a Susan Byrd of the Buncombe/Yancey, N.C., area that married Jacob Honeycutt ca. 1810. They had a son, Stephen Morgan Honeycutt. In my search for ancestors, I have found no Morgans whatsoever in the Honeycutt line...so I look to the traditional maternal influence on that middle name of Stephen Morgan. Finding nothing, I conjecture that it may have been in maternal ancestry of Susan Byrd (Stephen's mother). Way out in left field I have the Owenbys, where an allied ancestral line of Morgan has at least two Stephens. I have a nearby connection of Honeycutts to Owenbys. I am totally in the dark with regard to Susan's ancestry...so any help would be greatly appreciated. 3. Hello everyone, I know a lot of people have been waiting to hear from me, and I apoligize that I have not gotten back to many of you before now. However, for over 3 months now my health has been very poor, and I have had numerous doctors appointments, tests, including ultrasounds, CAT SCANs and MRI. I still have more to go, they come up with conflicting reports, and so have been running me through the mill. I have only been doing what I have to do, or was able to do. Those of you who I am suppose to be sending information to, some I have sent parts. Could you send me another message, telling me where I left off, or if you did not get any thing at all. I have some mail still in my box that I have not been able to get to in months. I can think of better things to do during the holidays then spend time in labs and doctors offices. But I guess I have no other choice. I have just been keeping an eye on the lists, just to make sure everything seems to be going ok. We now have our lists archived on Roots Web, I will get you the address as soon as I can locate it again, so much mail has been going through listowners I can hardly keep up with it. I need to let you know now, that any message sent to the list will be archived. Now, while my lists are sent up to reply to the individual, some times it slips, and sends it back to the list. So when you are replying to a message, that you want to make sure is private and not archived, please look carefully to the reply to, and that it is not going to the list. Why it switches every now and then I don't know. I have been doing a little better the last few days and trying to get some things cleared up. Everytime I look at my "read incoming mail" I almost want to faint for all the mail, from all the lists that I belong to (some very very active), and I just keep them to read when I can. My mail at home is not doing much better, it is piled up too. So give me some time, and I promise I will get it all caught up. A reminder, if you are going to be gone for the holidays please unsubscribe to the list and subscribe when you return. Unlike Maiser, Rootsweb does not have an "No mail". After so many bounces Rootweb automatically unsubscribes you.
