My GG Grandfather was born in Iowa and came to NE some time before 1885. His name was Edward E. Bird, he married Josephine ?. Children were Arthur Edward, James, Olive, Clark and there were possibly other siblings born after the census from 1885. I don't know what his parents names were or where they came from. (yet) I have a lead, but it's not confirmed yet. Cathy Reed

I've also seen discrepancies in birthplaces given in the census. One census will show the birthplace of a person to be Kentucky, the next census 10 years later may show the birthplace of the same person as Tennessee. Guess it depends on who talks to the census taker. Regards, Bill Byrd

    3. I am seeking information regarding William A. & Elizabeth Bird, Sr. and their four children, William, Jr., George, Mary Ann, and Frankie of Bibb County, Alabama; Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana; and several counties in Texas. William Bird, Jr. supposedly was born in Bibb County, Alabama on 7 Mar 1840. He died In Kirbyville, Jasper Co., Texas on 23 Jan 1918. He married Missouri Josephine MAHLE (daughter of John Henry and Nancy BAGLEY Mahle) in Caddo Parish on 19 Jun 1861. Missouri died in Port Arthur, Texas in Jan 1929. The family moved from Shreveport, Louisiana to Texas shortly after 1870. A son, Lee Griffin was born in Louisiana or Texas in Feb 1871. William & Missouri also lived in Anderson, Madison Tyler and perhaps Polk counties, Texas. William Bird, Jr. had siblings: George Bird, Mary Ann Bird who married James JOHNSTON (Johnson) of Ireland, and Frankie Bird who married Thomas FULGHAM My direct line is through Lee Griffin (Robert Lee) Bird of Polk Co., Texas. I would appreciate any information on the Bird, Mahle, Johnston, and Fulgham families. Best regards, Ray Botkin
