I thought you all might like to take a look at this site referred to on the ETN list, which shows the progression of county divisions in the United States. Then again, you might not want to look at it because it may depress you if you are like me and are pretty sure you have VA ancestors who never moved a foot, but lived in five different counties between 1770 and 1800. Hi, Do the list masters keep archives of the postings? How far back? Since I lost my Netscape Mailbox when a virus wiped out my harddrive I'm trying to rebuild the data that hadn't been copied into my family files (I have two internal drives and only one was affected). Most of the addresses seem to be OK . I lost the list postings from April 5th through Oct 10th. The data lost in my family files was from Sept 5th to Oct 10th - luckily I had been too busy working outside to do much during that period (including backup my drives). If anyone sent me private correspondance during that time frame I would greatly appreciate it if you could forward copies if you still have them. Thanks to everyone. You better believe I'm making extra copies from now on. -- Sandra Ragan Plum Grafik http://www.sirius.com/~sragplum "After eliminating every possibility, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the TRUTH," --------Sherlock Holmes
