Hi everyone I recently lost emails and data dealing with the BURD's due to a hardrive dying on me. I thought I had backed up the info but can only locate backups from a year ago. If you have contacted me with BURD info from NJ or NY please recontact me, so I might be able to rebuild my database. Does anyone know if there is a Bird/Byrd Genealogy Book that includes the Birds that migrated from Nansemond Co., VA in the early to mid-1700s to Franklin Co., NC.? These Birds include John & Mary Bird with sons Enos, Jesse, Needham, John Jr., William, and daughters Hester and Kiddy. If so, contact me at: angela@cocentral.com
Hi, All the errors that where found on the online version of "Byrds and Sonners of Shenandoah Valley" are fixed with the exception of the migration map which is so big I haven't figured out how to scan it and put it on one page. If you find any more errors please let me know so that I can correct them. Thanks for the comments and thanks again to the authors - Marilyn K. (Byrd) Harton & Harold K. & Carol J. (McKenzie) Byrd for their time, effort, and generosity. Terr Bird
Hello all (esp, Ed, Glenda, Mary Lou, etc.) On the Franklin Co VA list there was reference to a book by Linda Nezbeth on theByrds of Franklin Co VA. Since that (and Henry Co) are places where my Choates are found, and there were Byrds in Pittsylvania (parent of Franklin and Henry I think in parts), I was wondering if any of you have seen the book??? Here is Linda's address: Linda Nezbeth Email at LNezbeth@aol.com FYI, I have sent her an email and will let you know what she says. Janet Hunter

Hi Slade - My Bird's are from Delaware. My 5gr grandfather Samuel McClintock married Elizabeth BIRD. Samuel and Elizabeth lived in Brandywine Hundrred of New Castle County, Delaware so I belive Elizabeth's family all lived there too. Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas BIRD and Rachel. Thomas died in 1778 in Delaware and Rachel died 1789 - place unknown. I'm afraid that is all I know about my BIRDs at this point. Judy.
Looking for Birds/Byrds in the Caswell/Alamance area's of North Carolina and in Deleware. Check out my web site for more information at : Http://www.slade-anderson.com Thanks, Slade Anderson

I am researching the Bird line which I can trace back to Windsor New York in Broome County. Charles Bird was one of 3 sons of Benjamin and Maria Merchant Bird. Charles moved to Lenawee County Michigan in 1831 and married Mary A. Hood. Does anyone have anymore information? Michele Robinson
Mason Bird was born about 1786 in VA. He mustered into the War of 1812 in WV. He had (unconfirmed) siblings by the names of Christena, John, Joseph, Mary, Myra and Patrick. He married at least two times. In Harrison County, Indiana, he married Catherine Mullins in 1819. As far as I can tell, there were 8 children. I've put together the ones I know: Edward b. 1824 Catherine b. 1826 Mason G. b. 1828 Andrew J. b. 1830 Elvira b. 1834 John Federick b. 1841 William T. b. 1840 (my gggrandfather) These children married their spouses in southern IL. After Catherine's death, Mason Bird remarried in 1850 to Hannah Williamson and had about 8 more kids before he died in Pope County, IL. Any information would be appreciated. Marla Moore
Hi Bird people, I have just joined this list. I am looking for connections in England to my Bird family. My greatgrandmother Rachel Alice Bird (nee Bullen), with 4 children Ernest (11, my grandfather), Louisa (9), Alfred (6) and Ada (3) left London on 29 July 1887 on "Jumna" and arrived in Brisbane, Q, Australia on 18 Sept 1887. Greatgrandfather Charles had been in Aus for some time before that. They had lived in East Finchley London. Does anyone out there have any Bird connections in England which go further back? I'd appreciate any info. Sue Holzknecht
