    1. [BIRD-L] RE:Mounce Bird/Byrd descendants
    2. Sherry, There is a book that has information about the Mounce Byrd line. It's called "BYRDS and SONNERS of SHENANDOAH VALLEY, VIRGINIA And Their Migrations to Wells County, Indiana" by Marilyn K. (Byrd) Harton & Harold K. & Carol J. (McKenzie) Byrd. You can view this book online at http://members.aol.com/kgriffyjr/ByrdsSonners/contents.htm. I hope this helps. I'm looking for the parents of a William Byrd/Bird that was born in Kentucky around 1791. Do you have any information on the William Byrd you mentioned? Good luck on your research. Terry Bird

    3. The Mounce in my Bird Line was Mounce Jones. He died in 1693 at Douglasville, PA, then known as Morlatton. He had four daughters and seven sons, one of which was named "Mounce." The family settled in along the "Schuylkill" River. The family were major players at St. Gabriel's Protestant Episcopal Churcy, the 'original Swedish Lutheran Church.' This informatiohn is from the book called "The Ironmasters Kin, the genealogy of William and Mark Bird, 1621-1985" by Vera N. Hardin. This $8 book is still available at the Broad River Genealogy Society in North Carolina. It mentions that Mounce's kin served as laste as 1959 at the Church. Just to make things complicated, the descendant's name is Herbert G. Jones. 1. [BIRD-L] William Goodman BIRD - England, 1800's
    2. The Nadeau Family
    3. Hi all - I am looking for information on my g-g-grandfather. I have a few names. William Goodman BIRD m. Rachel BARNES (b. abt. 1820). They had a son, Joseph George BIRD, at Badby, Daventry, Northamptonshire, England on 31 Mar, 1856. The 1851 census of England lists a William G. BIRD, age 45, unmarried, son of Prudence BIRD, living at Sculthorpe, Walsingham, Norfolk; and a Rachael BARNES, age 32, unmarried, living at Norwich, Norfolk. Not sure if these are the same ones, but if so, they must have married and moved to Northamptonshire soon after. The 1881 census has Rachel, Joseph G., and family, but William must have died previously. I haven't had access to censuses in between or earlier yet. I need to know more about this family - more info re: children, William & Rachel's families, birthdates & places, etc., etc. Basically, just anything I can find or you can send me. If they are in your family tree, could you please send me some information. Thank you. Diana Nadeau

    3. No, Wendy, I have no other info than what I posted these are abstracts of the pension rec.You can send to the National Archives for the records, however this is all the genealogical info in the record. As, I said I need to recopy the Byrds, and it appears (from the one I typed tonight) I need to do the Burds. Remember, though, that pensions for Revolutionary War soliders were based on financial need or being very badly hurt until @1830, so if your ancestor does not have one, he may have not have needed it. I will try to type more tomorrow!- E

    3. My orginial question was: William Wayne Pauley married Mary Elizabeth Grass on June 18, 1896. Is she the same Mary Elizabeth who married Edward Grass? Your reply was that Mary Elizabeth Bird Grass who married William Pauley was your 2nd Greatgrandmother and that she was married to Edward Grass(your 2nd greatgrandfather)first and that you did not know if they had divorced or if he had died. Additional information you sent contained several family names that I am related to. I replied that: Mary and Edward Grass were my greatgrandparents. Mary was the sister of my greatgrandfather Samuel Henry Bird. William Wayne Pauley was the brother of my greatgreatgrandfather Andrew Pauley. Peter Holstein and Elizabeth McClure were Greatgreatgreatgrandparents of mine. Since we share a common grandfather which child of Edward and Mary are you connected to?
