Hi Wendy, My man is: Henry BIRCH married Anne Penelope KENNERLY 1824 at Kensington. (Before this date I know nothing about him.) They then moved to Huddersfield for the next 20 years where their 9 children were born. Henry, Olivia, William, Sarah, Hubert, Charles, Samuel, Maria and Jessy. He was a Chymist/Druggist/Oilman/ Colour Merchant. I’m always searching for a connection as he disappeared after 1844. I’ve found Olivia, Samuel, Maria and Jessy and their mother after that date all in London. Anne is on the 1851 and 1861 census with “Husband abroad” On her death cert. it states “Widow of Henry BIRCH” In case you haven’t seen the 1841 Census, London, St Stephen Coleman St., there is the following listed and he may be one of yours. Could be one of mine too. Wm. B. Birch Independent Age 60 born 1781 Hubert came over here in 1851 and is my gg grandfather. Is a Colonel Birch listed in these Chronicles? Colonel was the man's given name and he served in World War I, possibly in France with my father, Willie Miller Hudson. May have been from TN or AR.
I have a Francis John Birch, born 1801 in Lincolnshire, England and died in Wodehouse, Ontario, Canada. Anyone related to this man? I have a Frederick Birch born 18 Dec 1840 England and a Francis John Birch born 08 Apr 1801 in Lincolnshire. Francis John died in Canada. Anyone have these names in their genealogy? Marie in Missouri, USA
Can you please tell me where East Woodhay is located? Is there a possibility is name was spelled BURCH or alternative spelling? My Birches are mostly in Yorkshire, and earlier in the 1600s in Manchester area, so I am not much help to you. Where have you looked for any information about him? Parish Records? 1841 Census, etc??? Check all the David Birches in the 1841 census as the ages can be out 4 or 5 years because nearly all the ages in adults have been rounded down to the nearest 5 or 0. Unfortunately, the person who had a one-name study in Birch has died and his papers are closed for at least 2 years. Monica Hi All, ?
