    1. William Birch
    2. Sue Purcell
    3. I am looking for any info on William Birch, horsedealer, born abt. 1824 in Liverpool. May have had some tie up with the Grand National. William married Ellen Sergeant in 1846 & had at least 2 sons, Joseph, born 1848 & Charles. Joseph Birch was also a horsedealer. Charles Birch married Isabella Henderson Lawson in 1880 at Kirkdale then promptly skipped off to Kansas, USA where he also became a breeder of very fine horses. Joseph Birch had a daughter, Ellen, born 1874 in Liverpool, who was my husband's grandfather's first wife. Any info on this family would be most gratefully received. Sue Purcell

    2. Hi I'm searching my Birch family in Philly. So far I've found them in 4th ward in 1850, and 15th ward in 1880 & 1900. Are these 2 wards very close together? Is anyone researching a David Birch family found in 1850 census 4th ward Kensington? My ggrandfather Joseph C Birch is listed as 4 yrs. old. David was a doctor. Is anyone researching a Logan family from any of above wards? I have a Mary Logan that married my Joseph Birch. She was born in 1850. He was born 1846. If anyone has a LOGAN or BIRCH family from either of these areas please contact me for they could be related. Thanks alot. Carol Tackett
