I copied down trees without verifying anything or even writing down my sources ( I was such a novice!). Anyway, I have a tree written down, but no documentation of where it came from, that shows Israel as being the son of Dorcas and Edward May. Israel is shown as having married Elizabeth Barber, and through their son, Edward, the tree goes to a William Elmer Sterling. I presume a Sterling posted the tree, but that's all I can tell you. I'm sorry I don't have more verifiable information, but I hope this helps some! Incidently, I have learned from my aunt, who has verified her sources, that I am descended from Francis' son, Isaac, brother of Dorcas. So I assume we are cousins, very distantly! Good luck!
